Warriors Win at Highland

The Warriors put together one of their best games to date against the tough Roadrunners at Highland. The game was close with good goaltending on both sides. The first and third periods saw no scoring. In the second, the Roadrunners tallied first but the Warriors were able to follow up with two goals close together and hold on through the thrid for the win.

Warriors Blown Away by Zephyrs

With a really short bench the Warriors suffered an 8-2 loss to the Zephyrs. Despite holding on fairly well and keeping things close through the second period, the Zephyrs blew the Warriors away like the west wind their name represents (yes, kind of lame but Zephyr is a reference to a breeze from the west or the god of west wind - look it up).

Warriors Caught in Large Talons

In their greatest offensive showing of the year, the short-benched Warriors still fell to the Eagles. Despite scoring a season-high 6 and gaining the lead about midway through the game, the Warriors were unable to hang on as Eagles scooped them up like a delicious northern pike.

Warriors Fall to Spiders

The Warriors lost a tough battle against the Spiders last night at SLP. Parking was limited and crowds were huge as the Warriors attempted a 3rd period comeback. They fell one goal shy however and had to tally another loss.

Warriors Outranked by Admirals

Despite a performance akin to that of some sort of hot-shot captain the Warriors still fell to the Admirals. Good team play, a healthy amount of shots, and solid goaltending were not enough to get some goals or stop the Admirals from getting a couple of their own.

Warriors Drowned by Lakers

Before a pretty solid crowd, the Warriors fell thoroughly to the Lakers. Despite some pretty solid team play and a great sub goalie (thanks Chris), the game was still a very one-sided win according to the score board.

Warriors = Wile E. Coyote

Amid the sounds of "Mheep Mheep" at Breck the Warriors - like Wile E. Coyote - fell to the Roadrunners. Like with the coyote, no amount of Acme products could help the Warriors win. The Warriors struck first but the Roadrunners quickly came back with two. The score remained 2-1 until the third period when the Roadrunners knocked in the final goal. It was a tight game but in the end the Warriors found themselves under an anvil, at the bottom of a ravine, and flattened against a painted-on tunnel opening.

Warriors Lay Siege to Sparta

As if it were some sort of epic blockbuster movie, the Spartans squared off against the Warriors. In a similar fashion to such a movie many individual battles took place. Instead of ninja guys in masks, elephants, and a weird tall guy with lots of piercings that walks on people's backs for stairs the Warriors instead chose to put forth a strong effort from all three lines. Coupled with strong defensive play and perfect goaltending the Warrior's 4 game no-win streak was broken.

Chickens Lay No Eggs - Warriors Do Instead

Once again offensive production was severely lacking for the Warriors who put up another goose egg - this time against the Thunder Chix at Wakota. In the end the Thunder Chix put up 7 goals despite being slightly outshot by the unproductive Warriors.

Zephyrs Trounce Warriors

The Warriors suffered another tough loss last night at Highland. Offense was lacking and despite hanging on fairly well for a while the Zephyrs were still able to put in 2 goals each period for the win.

Eagles Soar, Warriors Fly Plane at Equal Speed and Elevation

In a mighty duel of evenly matched teams - no one came out on top. What are the odds? In the frozen, randomly-located New Hope Ice Arena the Warriors and Eagles put up equal defensive performances after 3 periods and 5 minutes of overtime.

Big Time Loss

Despite the inspirational setting of the West Side Arena (due of course to the ever-present Ken Yackel) the Warriors were not able to put up any offense and slowly gave the game away to the similarly-dressed Rack Attack. For the record - a black and gold warrior logo looks better than a brown moose on the Penguins jersey . . . too bad that didn't help our game.
